Why the site?

Or…what’s this all about?!?

…or why another FRIGGIN biker site?!?

Okay, before you start thinking I’m some crazed Harley fanatic, I had better explain why I decided to do this web site: Every other damned hobby and interest seemed to already have a billion sites on the web, so I figured why not another “biker enthusiast” site?

After all, bikers are a different breed and no matter what you ride – as long as you’re “In the Wind” you’re already up two cool points on my scorecard (the groups I ride with specifically The Dawgs of the North and ABATE of Alaska are not “brand specific” riding groups)! It also allows me to share my experiences riding and having fun!

I also wanted to do something not too serious that would keep me current on web development, keep my computer graphics and writing skills honed and introduce me to other people I can relate to.

My family site (http://www.leray.us) is only targeted for family and close friends and I use a Content Management System to take care of it (NEVER try to teach your family HTML!!!!!) and many of my family members don’t get the biker lifestyle anyways, so I figured I’d just make a separate site.

Most who know me know I’m pretty forward in thoughts and words. I tell it (lots of times too much) like it is and write it that way too. The bottom line is – it’s a place to share with others like myself and give back something to those on the journey with me. I mean, shit – this better be fun or what the hell is this for, right?!? Jack Kerouac summed it up best – &quotThe Road is LIFE.”

OK – so after rereading this I guess I am a CRAZED Harley fanatic! Oh well…LIVE WITH IT and I’ll see ya on the road!
