Gallery’s Back And Then Some!

Got the photo gallery fixed…sort of.

Had to do a manual install and import, so till I get the gallery cleaned up it’s going to have the raw data names for a bit.

The good news is that because of this I was able to fix the embedding problems I had been having with the previous gallery and the galley is now incorporated into the site fully.

So just some tweaking and the gallery is ready for 2007 and beyond!

Upgraded the site and FUCKED UP the photo gallery in the process…..

Sometimes it’s really good to actually READ THE DAMN MANUAL!!

I was upgrading the website tools and being the Geek that I am, didn’t think I needed to read the upgrade instructions first. I do this for a living and so, truthfully, how HARD could this be? I mean I build and manage large, multi-state, multi-server websites. Daily I work on website sitting on multiple platforms (operating systems/web servers/etc.) with multiple developers.

Some are as simple as content about a company to dynamic data driven teaching websites with online syllabus and testing features.

I mean, to just upgrade a blog with a photo gallery….c’mon!

Just too fuckin easy….

or so I thought.

Anyways after lots of screaming, Dewars 12 year old Scotch, aspirin, and kicking myself in the ass (which can be done - believe it or not) I have still managed to keep the gallery in a FUBAR (Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition) state.

Wild Hogs - The Movie

Due out March 2nd, this looks like a good movie about the RUB (Rich Urban Biker) their woes, etc. If it weren’t for the caliber of actors (William H. Macy, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence, and Tim Allen), I’d probably have waited for DVD.

Either way…see the trailer and decide for yourself:

Mail and portal page setup!

For those I have given a hogbiker.com e-mail account to, I have just signed up with Google to be the back end for my e-mail service.

My hosting service has done well enough but, pound for pound and the incredible price ($10.00 a year which averages out to about $0.20 an e-mail account per year) I just couldn’t resist. Add that my e-mail users get 2.5 gigabytes of mail storage, SPAM protection that considered the best in the business, a calendar to share, chat, and a custom portal page they can customize http://start.hogbiker.com I just felt is was worth the effort.

I guess the last thing to work on is the Photo Gallery so I have the whole site incorporated as one!

Mail server switch this weekend….

Just to let everyone know, I’ll be switching over to the new Google domain services program this weekend. I’ve been testing it on several websites and I simply LOVE the service!

Even if I end up paying the ten bucks a year (up in the air if we beta users will have to pay initially or at all), the SPAM, calendar, portal and other features they are adding to this program make it so worth it.

I have to sacrifice two drinks a year to ensure that everyone using hogbiker.com e-mail has the best mail service possible.

No worries
