250 Mile Sunday!

Even with working Friday Night, Saturday and Sunday I was able to get in some miles on Sunday. We took off north to Sheep Mountain the check out the new road construction on the Glenn out between Sutton and Long Rifle (a blessing if you’ve ever traveled those roads which used to be noting but tar snakes).

Needless to say, it was great! The road was smothed out and just excellent. There were some minor “whoops” as there were some gravel patches in the corners (most likely due to the NON DRIVING IDIOTS who can’t corner those RVs and 5th Wheels) and some falen rocks on the road, but a wonderful ride nonetheless.

So what do you do after doing a great ride north? Go to Girdwood for Ice Cream!

It seemed like FOREVER going back (who in their right mind tries to pass an RV in an RV?!?!?!?), but once we were back to Eagle River it was again smooth sailing…

I won’t say how fast we were going on the way to Girdwood, but we would have recieved a $760 fine and I’d probably be looking at some jail time since the Seward Highway is a ‘safety corridor’ to Girdwood and all fines/penalties are doubled.
